I have searched the Web high
and low for other information about our hero, and it's scant, as you can
probably attest. There are a few other dedicated sites, none of which have
amassed as much information as this site has, but what the heck, they've
got some stuff I don't have:
- The Shrine of the Unsung Musicians has a good chunk of Tonio text, including a song-by-song guide to the Amerika album.
- RHAD's Tonio K. Page now contains some classic album reviews as well as a bio of Tonio K., published by Arista Records circa 1982, that mercilessly entwines Tonio's personal history with that of Louis Armstrong. It also boasts Tonio's essay "Ten Most Significant Contributors to the History of Recorded Music." Quite entertaining, and not to be missed.
- Like everyone else these days, Tonio K. has a MySpace page.
